Dr. Guy A. Williams, Sr. is a shepherd in the purest sense of the word.  He lays down his life for the Savior he worships, the church he serves and the sheep he leads.  Pastor Williams has been preaching for 30 years and has faithfully served in the Pastorate for more than 25 years.  An anointed preacher, prolific teacher and faithful friend, Dr. Guy desires nothing more than to see you grow to your fullest potential in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dr. Williams is a fourth generation Washingtonian with more than 36 years of diversified pastoral and leadership ministry. His commitment to the people of God is evidenced by a broad array of education, experience, and ever increasing responsibilities and accomplishments for the advancement of the kingdom of God.

Dr. Williams accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life on March 19, 1977. After attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, Pastor Williams was directed by the Lord to attend Washington Bible College (WBC) in Lanham, MD, where he received his foundational theological training, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries. With a burden for the City, he began preaching at the age of 19 in Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Since that time, he has preached across the United States and the Caribbean.

A life member of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., Dr. Williams was raised under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Henry C. Gregory, III. It was at Shiloh where he acquired a passion for relevant Biblical preaching with a mandate for the integration of Christian Faith and Public Policy, advocating for judicial, social and economic justice.

Dr. Williams also has vast experience in organizational management and leadership development. At 22, he was a part of the founding ministerial staff of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Lanham, MD, and served for 8 years as an Associate Pastor/Director of Youth Ministries. With recognizable expertise in Biblical exposition and a passion for people, Dr. Williams accepted God’s call to full-time pastoral ministry in December 1989 at the Parker Memorial Baptist Church (reorganized as Covenant Community Baptist Church). Through the years, numerous ministries have been redesigning and implemented to achieve maximum holistic and transformational community impact. Despite years of governmental and racial opposition to the church’s expansion and religious freedom initiatives, the church has persevered and has been highly productive – experiencing significant growth and development, with more than 1,000 persons coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and hundreds further discipled into devoted followers of the Savior. Recognized locally and nationally, God used him as a consummate leadership coach; in addition to numerous national ministers, he has mentored 7 men and 4 females from early development, through graduate school to full-time pastoral and professional ministry from his pastorate.

By God’s grace, one of his greatest ministry highlights was that for 10 consecutive years, his exciting expository preaching ministry which spanned from Delaware to North Carolina was rated as “the most listened to” broadcast on Infinity Broadcasting (according to Arbitron ratings).

Dr. Williams has served as an influential leader in civic and religious affairs. In 1997, the Lord used him to organize Voices of Interfaith Congregations Emerging in Solidarity (V.O.I.C.E.S.), an ecumenical organization of over 300 congregations, representing more than 50,000 people collaborating to defend the principles and practices of religious freedom. As a result of his leadership through V.O.I.C.E.S., the group was able to overturn abusive church zoning legislation and positively influence local public policy. For their activism, in May 1997, Dr. Williams was featured in the national newspaper, USA TODAY. In 2006, his efforts through partnerships with local political figures once again proved critical in halting resurgence of legislation that would have had a deleterious effect upon the future of Church growth and development in Montgomery County. One of his most valued Faith and Public Policy initiatives came in 2005, when the Lord used Dr. Williams to play a vital role on Capitol Hill, fervently lobbying on behalf of the victims of the Hurricane Katrina Crisis before members of the 109th Congress: Senators Obama, Kennedy, Clinton, Reid and Congresspersons Clyburn, Watt, Wynn, Thompson, and Louisiana Governor Landrieu.

In May 1998, Pastor Williams received his Masters of Theological Studies, in Christian Faith and Public Policy from  Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wynnewood, PA. Shortly thereafter, in May 2002, Pastor Williams earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Howard University School of Divinity, Washington, D.C. (Dissertation: Twenty-first Century Ministry Management). In conjunction with these academic achievements, Dr. Williams has also completed advanced study in the Executive MBA program at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

The Lord has allowed him to minister as a leader among leaders in several national and local Conventions including the Progressive National Baptist Convention where he serves as a member of its Executive Board. He has also served as a Board member of the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and is a member of several professional organizations including, but not limited to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the NAACP.   Since founding The PETROS Group, L.L.C. a cutting-edge organizational and wealth management consulting firm in 1997, Dr. Williams has recognizably enhanced the organizational effectiveness and personnel performance of countless nationally recognized pastors and congregations.

Finally, the object of his greatest earthly affections are his loving wife, best friend and ministry-partner, Kia Rebecca Williams and his six wonderful children, Lauren (Penn. State University, 2012), Guy, Jr., (US Naval Academy, 2016), Kailani (13), Aaliyah (12), Josiah (10), and Daniel (7), the greatest achievements of his life! For these gems and for all that has been achieved, he honors the Lord who graciously causes him to be “blessed . . . and highly favored.”
